Shenzhen, China – November 17, 2022 – MYIR, as a leading supplier of embedded SOMs (System-On-Modules), has attended ELEXCON & Embedded System Expo (ELEXCON 2022) from November 6th to 8th, 2022, at Shenzhen Exhibition & Convention Center. “From intelligent design to advanced packaging and testing, towards a smarter world!” was the theme of the exhibition. It had four major themed pavilions:"Semiconductor & Components Brands Pavilion", "Power & Energy Storage Technology Pavilion", "Embedded and AIoT Technology Pavilion" and "SiP & Micro Assembly Pavilion". It has brought together high-quality global brand manufacturers to share the most cutting-edge technologies: 5G/RF technology, Auto Chip & Components, MEMS/sensors, PD fast charging technology, third-generation semiconductors, shared charging and swapping, RISC-V, AI technology, industrial computers, IoT solution, laser/dispensing technology, EDA, packaging and testing equipment, advanced materials, etc.
MYIR had a trade show booth at stand 1V62. MYIR has demonstrated their latest products and technical solutions on the exhibition, including CPU modules and development boards based on processors from NXP, ST, ALLWINNER and other well-known semiconductor vendors. At the same time, wonderful demo shows and interactive activities were performed, which attracted many participants to join in and interact.
MYIR at ELEXCON 2022
During the exhibition, MYIR’s engineer made a demo show with the theme of "Application of MYD-JX8MPQ Development Board in Edge Computing".
Demo Show
Since the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT), edge intelligence is quite a disruptive innovation. Edge computing applications are very common, such as face recognition, voice recognition, object recognition, vehicle recognition system and so on, they all can not be separated from AI. MYIR has launched an advanced development board MYD-JX8MPQ based on quad Arm Cortex-A53/M7 i.MX 8M Plus processor which is NXP’s first i.MX processor with a built-in 2.3 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for extensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities. Just how strong is it? MYIR’s engineer showed the NPU algorithm capability of the board to the audience through the demo show. The engineer used the an image of TensorFlow-Lite framework as an example and compared the CPU, GPU and NPU algorithm capabilities through the corresponding commands. The results showed that the average computing power of the CPU is 44.832MS, the GPU is 160.934MS and the NPU is only 2.866MS. It can be intuitively seen from the data that NPU has strongest computational power and can better meet the high standard requirements of edge computing.
MYD-JX8MPQ Development Board
At the exhibition, MYIR also highlighted its latest product MYC-JX8MMA7 CPU Module, which adopts ARM+FPGA architecture and is based on 1.8GHz NXP i.MX 8M Mini quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 plus 400MHz Cortex-M4 processor and an integrated Xilinx XC7A25T Artix-7 device. It takes full advantages of the ARM MPU to provide powerful multimedia capability for data processing, control, communication and display, as well as enough FPGA resources for high-speed data acquisition, processing and AD module expansion. The flexible design has attracted a large number of visitors.
